Rijeka Wins the 2014 Swiss Tourism Award

The Rijeka Tourist Board was given the prestigious 2014 Swiss Tourism Award at a ceremony held in Lugano as part of the Swiss International Holiday Exhibition that ended recently.

Dominik Damiš, the Marketing Director of the Rijeka Tourist Board, received the award at the gala dinner. Besides the award ceremony, the many exhibition visitors had the opportunity to find out more about the tourist offer in Rijeka, Opatija and Kvarner by visiting the Rijeka Tourist Board's promotional stand. The Rijeka Tourist Board participated in the exhibition in collaboration with the Opatija Tourist Board, as part of the Croatia 365 project by the Croatian National Tourist Board.

The Swiss Tourism Award is given to tourist destinations every year for the online presentations of their tourist offers. After careful scrutiny, the scientific committee of the Swiss Tourism Awards, which was in charge of the evaluation, decided to present the award in the category of best website in 2014 to Rijeka. The rationale for giving Rijeka the award was that it is a „city worthy of discovery“, open-minded and amiable, with a rich historical heritage, whose architecture mirrors its cosmopolitan nature.

The website was designed in late 2013 by Multilink, a renowned IT company from Rijeka, with new languages having been added to the website this year.
